The Reason

So, the reason that I haven't (or I should say don't) blog that often is that I don't have the internet at my home any more. After my internet/cable company decided to charge me $100 a month for internet and cable TV, not the $85 it should have been, I decided the give them the axe. Seriously!?!?! $100 bucks a month! I thought that $85 was pretty steep. But, my dear friends...... I am suffering. I no longer have my third eye, I can no longer cyber stalk my friends, I no longer waste away hours of the day doing nothing but suffer the net, I no longer have a quick means to communicate with people via e-mail. I sometimes feel totally cut off, I actually have to call people or *gasp* talk to them in person!!!! I make myself suffer even more and watch fuzzy TV. Nope, no more crisp and clear channels for Wendy! I now have 5 channels instead of hundreds, even thought I didn't watch ALL 300 or so channels I had. *sigh*
LOL! Ok, ok, ok, it's not THAT bad. But I am weakening, in the back of my mind I am starting to ask oh so innocent questions. Like, "What if I reinstall my internet? BUT just the internet and not the TV?", "What if I get high speed net thru the phone line?"and so on. I currently use my dad's computer or I go to the public library. Which both are nice, especially at the library the computers there have the new windows Vista, it's very nice and speedy. ;-D But right now I would like nothing more then to use my own bathroom, slip into my pjs and just be..... home.

I'm floored.......

I got new flooring in my kitchen and bathroom. To make a long story short, I needed a small section in the dinning/kitchen area done. Instead of just doing that small section and have it not match the rest of the floor. I just got the whole area (kitchen & dinning area) done. Then the flooring in my bathroom didn't match either, there are two sections to my bathroom you'll see in the pics below. Also some of the vinyl was peeling up around the air vent in the bathroom. It was driving me crazy so I got that done too.

Here are the pics:

This is the only real before picture I have of the kitchen. I know that is doesn't show the floor but you'll see. This is when my sister and her family owned my place at my nieces first birthday party.

After

I just realized that I don't have any before pics of my bathroom. Oh well!

All Eyes On The Deck!!!!

One of my projects this summer was my front deck. It was dirty and the wood needed to be stained again. So, I borrowed my moms pressure washer, washed it off and with the help of my mom stained it a nice brown color. Here are the before and after pics:

Before

A close up showing the wood before (left) and after (right) pressure washing.

The Twilight Trio

For those who don't know by now there is this book series out called Twilight. The first book is called Twilight, then it goes New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn and all four books are VERY good. They are for young adults and can be a bit cheesy/corny/teenage-dramay (yes I DID just made up my own word there), BUT oh so good.
For the last book, Breaking Dawn, that came out last summer in August my friend Ann (who I helped to get hooked on the books), her niece Emily and I went to the release party. It was a freakin' blast! There were games, a scavenger hunt and tons of other things to do. Since I didn't have my camera (see the pattern) check Anna's blog for pics!
They made a movie out of the first book which was released Friday (the 21st). Again the Twilight Trio went to the movie and we didn't just go to the movie on any ordinary night. Nope! We went the MIDNIGHT showing of Twilight! Again it was freakin' awesome! We got there super early so we could get good sets and to pass the time we play Phase 10 and Emily brought her hand handle Nintendo system (DS). On which I finally figured out what Guitar Hero is and what the hype is all about. It was pretty fun! But looky looky I HAVE PICTURES!!!!

The Twilight Trio

Playing Guitar Hero on Emily's DS

Anna enjoying the popcorn

Two VERY tired ladies at the end of the night!

I'm excited for the next movie. Summit Entertainment announced that they are making a movie out of the second book, New Moon. I hope that the Twilight Trio will go and see that at midnight together too.

My New Addition

I already have one cat her name is Mitzie and I love her. Just like any owner would love their pet. But lately I have been worried that she is lonely, I have no idea way but that is how I feel. Ironically enough there was a house abandon in my trailer park and a kitten was left behind. My neighbors took in the kitten, but they have a toddler and the kid was mistreating the kitten. Like choking and sitting on her, they said that she keep getting outside too. I honestly think that they just couldn't handle having a kitten. Anyway this is were I come in. I had found the kitten in my yard and taken her home a couple of times and said that if they didn't want the kitten I would take her in. Then last Friday the woman came over and asked if I still wanted her. Of course I did, have I mentioned that I have a soft spot for animals? So, now I have two cats! I haven't decided what to name the new one. She came with the name Zoe, but she doesn't come to it. She comes to Kitty Kitty and I'm NOT calling her that! I thought Nala would be a cute name for her, like from the Lion King.

Here are some pics:

So, I just now decided to call her Nala. Isn't she a cutie!
Sleepy kitty!
Mitzie hiding out underneath my bed.
I forgot to mention that the two cats aren't getting along right now. Mitzie isn't too impressed with out new addition to our home and Nala doesn't know what to do about Mitzie. She likes me well enough, but when I left for the weekend they wouldn't stay in the same room together. But don't worry I didn't left them unattended. Nala still has her front claws and I didn't want to leave running free and scratch stuff up. So, I locked her in the bathroom with some toys, food, water and litter. I have neighbor come over and let her out every couple hours and make sure everything is going well. I know that soon they will get along it is just going to take a little time.

I'm In Need of a Good Burger

So, I have been staying with my older sister Tracy up in Muskegon for the weekend. Which is how I am able to do all the updated postings. When I come to town we have two traditions. The first is that we go and grab a burger at a local burger place called the Station Grill. I swear that they have the BEST HAMBURGERS EVER and they're HUGE!
I believe that the smallest size is 1/2 pound burger. UMMMMM....yummy!

The second tradition is that after dinner we go and play cards with my grandma and her sister (my great aunt). We play a face card game called Set Back. It's a partner game and it's normally Tracy and I against my grandma and great aunt. So, technically it's the sisters against the sisters. We went last night to play and as always we all had fun.

One of these times I'm going to take a picture and post it. Last night I forgot, see a pattern here?

Hair & Glasses

Last summer I decided to highlight my hair blonde. I loved the results, it something new and sassy!

Here are some pics, sorry for the crappy quality I obviously was my own photographer. :-)

This is within hours of having it done.

I had some purple put in underneath. I loved that too! Too bad that it wasn't permanent.

Some where in the middle of August I got tired of my blondness and dyed it back to brown myself. Above is the before shots.

This is the after!

I also got some glasses last week and here is the last bad self taken pic, I promise.

What the heck is up with the pointy chin!?!?!

I'm Updated!

Ok, the last 6 posts was my attempt to catch up from last spring when I decided to be a bad bad blogger. It was weird, it was like all my ideas dried up and I had no desire to write anything. So, yeah I stopped. Anyway I am sure that I forgot tons of things that happened, but oh well. Now I'm going to try and keep it up!

The Best Deal Ever Pictures

I found some pictures from back in April when my sister Tracy and I went to see our nieces.

Eating ice cream, YUMMY!
Riding the carousel. I know not my best pic, but it's worth it.

Riding the little train, yes, I was completely thrilled. Tracy "made" me do it!

Nap time with Aunt Tracy.

SWIMMING! Both of the girls love to swim!

Playing at Chucky Cheese!

Being silly with the sun glasses we bought them at the Disney Store.

Thinking back on that weekend, I don't know who had more fun the girls or Tracy and I.

July & the 4th of July

So, once again my main excitement for the month revoles around my sister Robin and her family (the Caudills). Last year for the 4th of July the Caudills came to Michigan and spent about a week. Then Libby stay a week at my parents house and a week with Josh's parents. But do to the fact that Josh had lost his job in June they were unable to afford the trip to Mi. So, in lew of that the Caudills met my parents half way between Lansing, MI and Centreville, VA. Which was some where in Ohio. Where Libby and Abby were handed over to the care of my parents. So that the girls could at lest come and visit both my parents and Joshs parents. So, a whole week with a 4 & 2 year old ensued at my parents house. OH those girls are SO much fun! They both have their own personality and are not afraid to show it! One of the main thing my mom and I did with the girls was take them to the local county fair. There they rode the little kiddie rides, went to the petting zoo, looking at the farm animals ( it's a 4H fair too) and went on a awesome pony ride!
I have mentioned before that I have my own place and that I have been kinda fixing it up and doing repairs. Well, at the end of July I hired someone to resealed the roof to my house. It was coated with a black tar-like stuff , so you can imagine what it was like inside the house in the summer. Yeah, not so much fun. Especially since I had vowed NOT to turn on the A/C. Since I was saving SO much money that way I made sure that Brad (the guy who did it for me) got new sealant in white, I made a bit of difference. Instead of walking into a furnace like house when I cam home for work. It was more like walking into a shaded area, still hot but not sweltering.

Happy Happy Birthday To You From Me!!!!

I think that Northwest airlines has a love-hate relationship with me. They love me because when I fly out to go see my sister Robin, Northwest is mainly the airline I (or we) fly. They have the cheapest one way round trip flights coming out of Detroit and landing in Dulles airport. Which is 15 minutes from Robin's house. They hate me because when I do fly it's really cheap. Which I guess isn't that bad, because it makes me go back to Northwest. Hmmm? Oh well!
In June I once again flew out to Centreville, Va for my nieces (Libby & Abby) birthdays. This time I went with my grandma, mom and again with Tracy. There isn't much I can say about the birthday party. Ya know it was a party for a 2 and 4 year old. But the girls had SO much fun and they got the coolest presents! It was another good trip and as always it was good to see the girls. Oh and Robin and Josh too!
Also in June I made a long visit to my friend Anna, who lives about an hour and a half from me. She had back surgery and when you have a baby too it makes everything harder. Her husband Tony was going to be gone for 2 days and I stayed those 2 days with her to help out with then about 7 month old baby, Lucy. I was also suppose to help with things around the house. But Anna's mother-in-law, Marta, was staying there too and had keep up with the house work. It was really a blessing that Marta was there because our mutual friend, Missi, was in town from Las Vegas. So, I surprised Anna with Miss and we all had a ton of fun catching up with each other and spoiling Lucy with our attention. It was great to be together again despite the yucky circumstances.
Ok, so there were pictures taken but I don't have any and again I will post some later.

PS~ I just spelled circumstance right and on the first try! I just thought that I would point that out.

Photo 101

The only thing that happened in May was that I finished school. I know, I know it IS a BIG deal. But I just don't really think much about it because I am technically not finishing in what I aimed for. I also haven't turned in my paper work yet to officially graduate. But when I do I will officially have an General Associates in Applied Science (what can you do with that you may ask? I HAVE NO CLUE!) AND a certificate in Phlebotomy. But I am still extremely proud of myself. I really want to find a job at a hospital and do phlebotomy, but the job market in Michigan sucks and I'm not trying that hard for some reason. I think that I am just going out of my comfort zone and it freaks me out a little. But I'll get over soon I think
The last class I took for school was Photo 101. I only needed one credit and it could be an elective, I was pretty excited about that one. Anyway I chose photography because I was tired of having a fancy camera and not using it to it's full capability. Well I got a little more then I bargained for, but in the end I learned what I wanted to know. Oh, and the fact that I aced the classed helped a little bit. ;-D
I DO have pictures from my class! BUT, I'm not on my computer right and I have no clue have to load pictures onto this one. I will post some in the future, I promise

26 & The Best Deal Ever!

26 years ago on April 8th, 1982, Some say a very special person was born. Who, you might ask? ME!!!! Yuppers I turned 26 this year! I can't really remember what I did. So, that either means I'm getting so 'old' that I can't remember or I didn't do anything special. I'm banking on the later, but I honestly can't remember what I got as presents. Hmmmm..... oh well! But I do remember that my family and I went out to eat at Outback, which one of my favorite restaurants. Yummy!
Also in April I went down to see Robin and family again. I had some vacation days I needed to use up and I thought what better then to see my nieces again. I tease Robin and tell her that is the real reason why I come. I asked my older sister Tracy if she wanted to come with me and so we went looking for airplane tickets. That is when I found THE best deal ever! For $200 and some change each I found round trip airfare AND a hotel for the weekend (4 days & 3 nights)! The hotel wasn't just any hotel it was a Courtyard Marriott, which was pretty much brand new. They also had a shuttle to and from the airport, there was a mall across the road ( which they took us there and back) and they had a swimming pool! So what we did was take the girls for a day and a half and spoiled them rotten! We took them to the mall and played in the play area, swim in the pool, rode the train ride at the mall and the carousel that was there. We order pizza and let them stay up too late and took them to Chucky Cheese the next day. Where Robin and Josh met us and we spent the rest of the day at their place. All in all it was a great weekend!
Once again I don't have any pictures. Not that I forgot my camera, nope, Tracy took a bunch of pics, which was loaded to Josh's computer. Which crashed and the pictures can't be retrieved. Again....sadness.

What I Didn't Blog in March of '08....

So, something that I forgot to talk about last March was that I have an older brother named Rick. LOL! Ok, that isn't EXACTLY what I mean. But we did do something together, just the two of us. See we definitely have that older-brother-younger-kid-sister-relationship. Where I still treat him as my older brother and he still treats me like a little kid sister. I really have no idea what to think about that.....it is what it is. :-D But anyway... we went and saw our sister Robin and her family in Centreville, Va. Yes, spelled as Centreville and NOT Centerville. It was great fun! We played and spoiled our nieces, spent some time Robin and her husband Josh. Josh and Rick have what some people would call a bro-mance, a brother like romance, it's REALLY funny.
Centreville, VA is only like 30 miles from Washington DC. So, one afternoon I dragged Rick to the Smithsonian museums, he wasn't that impressed, but yet didn't complain. We saw dinosaurs bones and the Hope Diamond in the Natural Science museum and space ships from NASA, various airplanes and other scientific stuff at the Space & Air museum. I thought is was all awesome! The only not awesome part was that it was raining and we had to walk from one building to the next. Also to and from the subway station, which granted was all within a few miles of each other. But in the rain!?!? Anyway we were pretty lucky about not getting drenched until we were leaving to go back to my sisters and walking back to the subway station. That is when it decided to rain harder then the even sprinkle that it was doing all day. So, not only did we get pretty much wet, I had on my favorite pair of pants that happen to be a little too long for me. The cuffs got soaked from walking in the puddles the water soaked all the way up the back of my pant leg until about behind my knees. Nice! I'm just grateful that it happened on the way home and not in the begging of the day. It would have dampened my afternoon! Ha Ha Ha! Sometimes I am my own comedian!
Sorry I don't have any pictures of this weekend, I forgot my camera. Sadness.

Who Am I???

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Take the Quiz here!

You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.

Cookin' With Mr. Food!

I had like 3 lbs. of shrimp and 5 lbs of chicken in my freezer that I needed to cook. So, I was looking at my Rachel Ray cook books and nothing was really jumping out at me. Which was a disappointment because I really like her cooking ideas. So, I remembered Mr. Food, I used his recipe last week for my cheesecake. I went back to the website and found a bunch that I wanted to try. Then since my dad was here I kinda used him as a guine pig. After we were done with my desk I cooked up basically all my shrimp.

I made Sweet n' Spicy shrimp:

WOW! It was really good! I would definitely make it again.

Then Louisianna Baked Shrimp:

This one was by far the favorite, it was nice and spicy!

After my dad left I kept on cooking with the chicken.

This is Key West Chicken:

Pretty good, I baked it, but it is supossed to be grilled chicken.

Saucy White Chili:

Again this was good too! I actually made this so I can bring it to Potluck tomorrow for Church.

I would definitely make all of there recipes again. They were all VERY easy to make and I'll say it again VERY good. If you want any of there recipes just say so and I'll email them to you. OH! Please ignore the dates on the pictures, I have no idea why it says the wrong date.

The Desk

So, a REALLY long time ago, about a month I think. I went down to Canton, MI and visited my friend Anna and her family. We went to Ikea, a place which I LOVE. I needed a new computer desk, I was using a old cardboard table my mom let me use before I got a dinning table. Anyway, After looking around and blah, blah, blah, Anna found one for me and I bought and took it home. Well, just today I had my dad come over and help me put it together. Yes, after a month! It went together really well and I love it! This is what it looks like:

What I Did On Saturday......

This is what I did today:

My mom asked me to make a cheesecake for Easter Sunday. Here is what it looks like:

It looks kinda burnt on the top along the edge. But I promise that it's just dark brown. Besides if it tastes burnt it can just be cut off.

I was watching Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network channel. She made a veggie soup form left over veggies from the night before. It looked REALLY good and I thought that it was a good idea. So, bought myself a new blender and got some veggies together. See:

I thought that I would be creative and add some minced garlic, alittle EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and some new dressing that I found, call spicy roasted tomato and poblano. I hope you can see where this is going. Well, after I pureed it and heated. This is what it look like:

Yeah, I actually ate some. It really wasn't THAT bad, but is was definitely uneatable. I think that if I make it again I'll go the the food network website and look up the recipe.

Yup, that's basically what I did today. While I was doing this I was "watching" the NCAA tournament. Yeah, my bracket isn't doing so hot anymore. Dang Duke for losing and Michigan State for winning! Yes, that's right I picked MSU losing in this round. *sigh* Oh well, there is always next year. :-D

Rock On

I like Andy Rooney form 60 Minutes, somehow he puts things in a neat view point with a tweak of humor. I had this e-mailed to me months ago and kept it. So, I thought that I would put it here. :-D

Andy Rooney said on "60 Minutes"
I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the UnitedCaucasianCollege Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.
Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.
I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?
I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion. I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off. When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of Probability. I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English! My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours. I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry a** if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines. I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations. I don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor. I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.
I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building. It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"
I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries! I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else And if you don't like my point of view, tough...

It's Bracket Time!

It's March Madness time for college basketball and I love it! I don't usually watch sports. But there is something so enjoyable about filling out a bracket and seeing if the teams you picked win or loss. Especially for me, because I don't watch any of the teams in the regular season. Well, maybe the Michigan State Spartans, but even then only a few games. But right now I am doing really good! I join a pool on FaceBook and out of about 52,000 people I'm ranked 484. Not bad, eh?

Sunday Quotes

"Races didn't bother the Americans. They were something a lot better than any race. They were a People. They were the first self-constituted, self-declared, self-created People in the history of the world. And their manners were their own business. And so were their politics. And so, but ten times so, were their souls." - Archibald MacLeish

"The purposes of our God are great, His love unfathomable, His wisdom infinite, and His power unlimited; therefore, the Saints have cause to rejoice and be glad." - Joseph Smith Jr.

"I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world." - Mother Theresa

Top Things Tuesdays

Things I hate about February.
3. People complain about the weather.
HELLO PEOPLE! It's still winter! Of course it's still going to be cold!
2. The cloudless days.
To me it seems that the sun goes for days (even weeks) without coming out and saying "hi".
1. Valentines Day.
Nothing like celebrating planned spontaneity. Thanks Hallmark.

What I Was Suposed To Do Sunday.

Alright, I know that I said that I would do this on Sunday. But what can I say? Well, beside that this is MY blog and I can do it whenever I wan to do it. ;-)
OK, here are some quotes.

"I do not want people to be agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them." - Jane Austen

"They say that God is everywhere, and yet we always think of Him as somewhat of a recluse." - Emily Dickinson

"Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of." - Benjamin Franklin

"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow them." - Louisa May Alcott

Where Have I Been?!!?!?

Hey people! Sorry I haven't been blogging much. If you didn't know I had a roommate and she moved out in the middle of January. Since the Internet was in her name, she basically took it with her. So, I was without what I call my third eye for about two weeks. Then I have just been lazy and/or too busy to do anything. I will be starting a new thing on Sundays. I think that it will be something about quotes and silly saying. I'll do it every Sunday, since I don't really do anything on Sundays. Yes, I think I will. It will be fun!

I think that this is the last one of my favorites from MySpace.

Mon, Oct. 2, 2006:
So, I have being wanting a flat screen plasma TV REALLY bad. I don't know why I just want one REALLY bad.
Anyway, Saturday night me and my roomie, Danielle, went to Walmart to look around and I saw it. A 42" plasma TV, it was a beauty. I wanted it. So, after a few agonizing minutes of deciding if I should get the 42" or a smaller one. I said nah I want the BIG one.....so I bought the 42". Then we (Danielle and I) went the the trouble and hassle of putting it in my car, a tight fit I might add. We went home with Danielle driving because we had to put it in the backseat with the driver seat pushed up, and a back widow rolled down with a corner of the box slightly sticking out. That was really funny. We got home and unloaded it. Naturally we wanted to open it and set it up. We got it out of the box and pulled off the protective wrapping and Ta Da! THE SCREEN WAS COMPLETELY BUSTED!!! I called Walmart and told the manager what was up and that I wanted to exchange it and if they had another. They didn't I asked if I could exchange it at a different store, yes I could. I called a different store, told the manager what was up and that I coming to his store with a broken 42" TV, he said OK. I totally forgot to ask if that store had another TV. So, when we got there and they looked for only to find out that they didn't have one either. I just ended up getting a refund. The Walmart people were really cool about it though. They didn't ask any questions about how it got broken or anything. Oh by the way - we didn't break it you could tell that it was packaged that way. So, I guess that is what I get when I want something big that I really shouldn't get. Well, get yet .

A Confession

Here another blog from my MySpace page. I will also like to repost that I haven't found one since!

Tue. Aug. 1, 2006:

I have to say that this happened a while ago, but it has taken me a while to come to grips with this. But here is my confession: I found a gray hair. Well correction.... my friend Anna found it for me. We were at her in-laws fish fry talking away, when suddenly she said that I had a gray hair. I kinda freaked out, then pulled it out and we laughed. Then I freaked out a little more. Why? Well I have an older sister, Robin, she 28 and has a few gray hairs of her own. On which I tease and torment her endless about, with great pleasure I might add. Now the tables are going to turn. I wonder what's going to happen? It actually wasn't GRAY, it was more a white then anything. Does that still count?

Introducing Top Things Tuesday!

I'm a little bored here and it's kinda late, 10:45 pm Monday night. So, I thought that I would introduce my Top Things Tuesday! I figured that I would have a weekly list of 10 or less every Tuesday or so. The lists are going to be on anything from what I think are serious topics to silly ones. I'm thinking most likely silly things knowing me ;).

This weeks list is top things I love about my house.

10. I bought it for a REALLY good price from my sister.

What can I say? Opportunity knocked.....HARD. So, I opened the door and jumped through it.

9. I don't have a home owners loan on it.

I worked my tail off the whole summer before I officially bought the place from my sister. By August of 2006 I was pleased to present her a check for the full asking price. Before you all think that I have a butt load of money, the price was cheap, very cheap.

8. I can decorate it any way I want!

Last May I took a whole week off of work and painted my room, the kitchen (and cupboards) and the front bathroom. I did it all pretty much by myself. Save for a few times some friends came and bailed me out. It turned out to be a little bigger project than I thought it would be, but I love the results!

7. It's in a quite trailer park.

I own a late model mobile home and thus live in a trailer park. I am constantly grateful that it is on the small side, about 85 homes in all.

6. Lot rent is cheap.

I'm not embarrassed to say that lot rent is $310.00. That my friends is cheap!

5. I have a HUGE shed.

The place came with a roughly 13ft by 13ft shed. I think that it's big and not that many people have one that big. I am constantly restraining myself to not fill it with a bunch of junk. What junk you say? I don't know, but usually if there is junk that I need to get rid of, I usually find a way to keep it.

4. It's small, but not that small.

14ft by 70ft, with a master bedroom/bath, full kitchen, laundry room, dinning area, living room and another room and bath room. It's a prefect size for me and my roommate.

3. It's within minutes of work and my parents.

I work at Meijer Warehouse and it's about 10 miles way form my house. Which it is a 10 - 15 minute drive. Love it, especially from the 20 min. drive I had when I lived in East Lansing for about 5 years. My parent live even closer, about 4 miles, which is always handy. Like when I need something fixed. :-)

2. PETS!

I love animals! When I was growing up we had our share of dogs and cats. When I lived in East Lansing I couldn't have any pets. Ahhhh the life of living in an apartment! lol! While my trailer park doesn't allow dogs, they definitely allow cats. I have 1.5 cats! LOL!!!! What I mean is that I have one (Mitzie) and my roommate has one (Daisy Sue) that I claim as half mine.

1. IT'S MINE!!!!!

I think of myself as a selfish person sometimes. This is one of those times.

A New Year! A New Me? Most Likely Not.

So, 8 days into the new year and I'm already sick and tired of hearing about people that make and usually breaking thier new years resolution(s). I personlly don't make any becuase I know myself. So therefore knowing myself I know that within either minutes, hours or days I'll forget that I made that promise. Or I just talk myself out of it ;) OOOHHHH I do remember one I made! WOW! In 2005 I said that I wouldn't eat candy. For those who don't know me that well, I am a total candy fanatic. Right now I am making a good sized dent in a 1 pound bag of twizzlers. YUMMY! Well my resolution worked until that summer I to Italy. Need I say more? LOL! Most people go on diets, something which I desperately need to do. I guess other people make a list of books to read, (now that is a good idea!) excerise more (something else I desperataly need to do) and I suppose the list can on and on. Well, I do cheer for those souls that decide to make resolution. Good for them I say as I continue to eat my twizzlers and pop a pizza in the oven.
Happy New Year!
